What is ALPHA?

Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explore the basics of the Christian faith. It’s about the big questions of life, like “What am I here for?” and “What’s the purpose of my life?” Alpha is for anyone who is exploring the Christian faith for the first time or wanting to know more about the tradition they have grown up with.

Churches in the Archdiocese of Chicago have been using Alpha for a number of years. They have found that Alpha offers a non-threatening way to learn about our faith, helps to revitalize parish communities, and to engage members of the parish community not normally active.

What's in the Alpha Course?

FOOD First, we gather together to share a free meal!

TALK Over the course of 11 weeks, each video will cover a key question of Christianity, such as, Who is Jesus?

DISCUSSION A safe space to respond to what was shared in the video and ask life's biggest questions.

Our Alpha will run from 6:30 – 8 on Tuesday evenings beginning September 9 in the IC Parish Center and it lasts 11 weeks. Feel free to attend the first one and try it out. There is no pressure to continue. If you have questions, contact Midge Berardi at midgeberardi@comcast.net or (224) 619-5864.
